What is a music theory curriculum supposed to include?
Love your writing, as you know, but whenever Gesualdo comes up, I like to quote my BFF Laurie Stras: Can we PLEASE stop using Gesualdo as an example?! He committed uxoricide. We have so many other examples!!!! Her awesome _Women and Music in Sixteenth Century Ferrara_ has many other wonderful examples! :) https://www.cambridge.org/core/books/women-and-music-in-sixteenthcentury-ferrara/9548A80A582795FCBD51F09CB6DDFDCA
My knowledge of Renaissance music is as shallow as a puddle and I am eager for recommendations for non-Gesualdo composers, especially women.
